Klepperduinen

This is a relocation area; that means that the intention is to implement various quality improvements in the recreation sector, for example establishing larger pitches for permanent caravans (larger than 35m2), improving the safety provisions and, if necessary, moving companies out of the sand-wall area. The purpose of the latter is to enable Ouddorp to preserve and protect this unique and vulnerable nature area. Sand-walls are sometimes mistakenly called schurvelingen.
In august 2008 a local newspaper 'Eilanden Nieuws' has publiced an article about Klepperduinen. You can read this article here.
An ecological connection zone was established in this relocation area. The salamander route is a part of this and its purpose is to protect the salamander population in the area.
Sammy Salamander has left the route and now lives in De Klepperstee where he opened a club for children. You can read more about Sammy in the children's page.
