Surroundings

The number of stars awarded to a recreation park or camping site is based on how the grounds is organised and the facilities offered. The natural surroundings have no impact on this classification. This is logical and quite normal. However, we find this rather regretful. We consider the surrounding nature as our partner. And thanks to this partner, De Klepperstee has developed into what it is today: a 4-star recreation park.

We would like to honour this partner with loving praise by highlighting some of our partner’s attributes on our website. You might consider this an additional – though symbolic – star. In this context we also want to honour those who in 1966 had the vision to develop in this very place and these special surroundings a recreation park on some 30 hectare of sand ground that contained only a dilapidated house and shed (the former De Klepperstee). We are actually quite proud of our stars as well as of our partner, otherwise known as our surroundings.

When describing our surroundings, we are referring to our immediate surroundings, in other words: the glorious nature areas, the historical sites, cultural outings and sights worth seeing, and the possibilities to engage in water sports. All this is within easy reach by bicycle or on foot within the boundaries of the Goedereede municipality.

Advice:
Although our guests are free to choose how and with which means of transportation they would like to visit and see the surroundings, we would like to take the liberty to advise you to leave your car where you are staying and explore the surroundings by foot or on a bicycle. This is better for the environment, better for your health, and it makes it easier to peacefully enjoy and appreciate all the places that we have described.
