1. Bird Observatory 'Tij' Haringvliet

This special bird watching spot in the shape of an egg is the newest attraction on Goeree-Overflakkee and is extremely popular. The 'Tij' is no less than 8 meters high and 11 meters wide and gives you a full 360 degree view of the Haringvliet, the locks and breeding areas of the many birds that live in the area.

2. Fauna Park Goeree-Overflakkee

The Fauna Park is a very nice animal park in Nieuwe-Tonge on Goeree-Overflakkee. This animal park is very nice to visit as a family. The meerkats are already waiting for you on arrival! You will also find more special animals such as foxes, capybaras, coatis and porcupines. After seeing all these beautiful animals you can also play miniature golf, enjoy the terrace or go on a treasure hunt!

3. Seal sanctuary A Seal Stellendam

At Seal Sanctuary A Seal in Stellendam you can see seals up close! A-Seal is a seal sanctuary for young seals that have lost their mother or are ill. At A-Seal, the Seals are cared for until they are once again fit to live in the wild. They are then released on the beach in Ouddorp and run into the North Sea.

4. Streekmuseum

If you want to know everything about the history of Goeree-Overflakkee, a visit to the Streekmuseum in Sommelsdijk should not be missed. In this museum you journey through the history of Goeree-Overflakkee. You will be inspired by the many stories, old crafts, agriculture, and fishing.

5. Brouwersdam

Enjoy yourself on the terrace at one of the beautiful beach bars in the Brouwersdam. Or would you rather sunbathe, surf or spot seals. The Brouwersdam has it all and is one of the most popular sights on Goeree-Overflakkee. On one side you will find the North Sea and on the other side the Grevelingenmeer where numerous activities take place.

6. Historic center of Goedereede

Goedereede is one of the oldest places on Goeree-Overflakkee and is the only place on the island that has obtained city rights. Goedereede was a very important place in Roman times. The port of Goedereede served as a transit port for the entire western part of the Roman Empire. Goedereede has been able to preserve its city walls, tower and harbor and these are beautiful sights, along with the narrow picturesque streets and alleys. 7. Hiking in nature reserves

Goeree-Overflakkee is known for its beautiful nature reserves. Those who like walking are in the right place at Goeree-Overflakkee. The nature reserves on the island extend from Ouddorp to Ooltgensplaat. De Kwade Hoek, Mudflats of Flakkee, Ouddorp Beaches and Hellegatsplein are hiking areas where you can relax and view all the natural elements that Goeree-Overflakkee has to offer.

8. The Harbor of Middelharnis

Would you rather relax in a cozy and atmospheric environment, surrounded by boats that sail out and into the harbor? Then the Port of Middelharnis is the place to be. An authentic harbor with lovely terraces and restaurants where its always cozy.

9. De Mekkerstee

Goat Farm De Mekkerstee is the most animal-friendly outing in Ouddorp aan Zee. Children can see how they milk goats and how goat cheese is made. After milking the goats you can play outside on the playground equipment. Have you gotten hungry yet? Then enjoy some food in the restaurant with homemade products.

10. RTM museum 

Have you always dreamed of riding an old steam locomotive as a child? This is possible at the RTM museum. The old steam locomotives still run a few times a year on the only track that is still there on Goeree-Overflakkee. During this breathtaking ride you will have a beautiful view over the Grevelingenmeer.
